MULTIPLY POLYNOMIALS

To multiply 2 polynomials; When there are exponents in your polynomial expression, you add them if they are the same variable type.

IF there are numbers, you simply multiply the numbers.

EXAMPLE:
x² (x) x³ = x to the 5 exponent
and with numbers,
6x² x 4x = 24x³ You multiply the numbers, and add the exponents, 6 x 4 = 24, and x² + x = x to the 3 exponent

FYI - X is really 1x and -x is really -1x

-X²Y (x) 3XY =

ANSWER With Explanation

-X²Y (x) 3XY =

-1 X²Y (x) Y (x) 3X Y = Place all the numbers together, then place all the like variables together; then solve
-1 (x) 3 (x) X² (x) X (x) Y (x) Y = Multiply the numbers, and add the variable exponents
-3x³y² -1 times 3 equals -3, x² added to x equals x³; and y added to y = y² (multiply the numbers and add the exponents)
